NEW YORK (AP) — President Joe Biden will meet his Brazilian counterpart Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva on Wednesday in New York as the leaders of the Western Hemisphere’s largest democracies seek areas of common ground despite some recent differences on Russia’s war in Ukraine and other matters. The two are expected to discuss labor and the environment. And senior U.S. administration officials who previewed the meeting said the two nations are rolling out a partnership on workers’ rights.Initial hopes that Lula would prove a staunch ally for Biden have been tempered in recent months, with the Brazilian leader voicing opposition on some issues and at times even seeming to thumb his nose at Washington. LONDON (AP) — Britain’s state-owned health service is operating on holiday-level staffing in England on Wednesday as doctors in the early stages of their careers joined their more senior colleagues in their first-ever joint strike action.Tens of thousands of so-called junior doctors walked off the job for the sixth time since last December in an escalation of their increasingly bitter pay dispute with the British government. The walkout comes a day after their more senior colleagues, commonly known as consultants in Britain, began their third walkout. While on strike, hospitals will provide minimal care similar to Christmas Day, when only emergency procedures are available and routine appointments or procedures are postponed or canceled. National Health Service figures indicate that the strikes have so far affected about 1 million appointments and procedures at a cost of more than 1 billion pounds ($1.2 billion).Consultants are to return to work on Thursday, while junior docto...

ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Today's 98.3 TRY Social Dilemma came from Darcy and it's about etiquette. Here's her email: Get the latest news, weather, sports and entertainment delivered right to your inbox! Hi Jaime. I recently took myself out to lunch during a break from work. I do this often, as I enjoy my own company. Yesterday though, when I was getting ready to leave the restaurant, I was saying a friendly goodbye to the hostess when she stopped me and told me I had food in my teeth. I was humiliated and embarrassed. I immediately went to the ladies' room and took care of the food, but I couldn't believe that a stranger would say something to me like that. A good friend or family member, absolutely, but a stranger?!?!? That seemed so wrong to me. When I told a friend who I work with about it, she said I should be glad the person told me, stranger or not. I disagree. I think it was way overstepping. What do you think? Thanks so much.DarcyWell, I'm with Darcy's coworker on this one...
